This strong leadership position administers the student media program at Southern Methodist University on behalf of the Board of Directors of Student Media Company, Inc., a self-supporting, 501(c)(3) non-profit educational Texas corporation financially and legally independent of the University. In addition to the administrative duties, the Executive Director serves as hands-on adviser to the news-editorial and photography staffs of The Daily Campus (the campus newspaper) and Rotunda (the campus yearbook) and their associated Web sites. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: As chief executive officer of the corporation, the Executive Director is responsible for day-to-day operations, implementation and interpretation of policies established by the Board, personnel and fiscal management, strategic planning, grant solicitation and other fundraising, and alumni relations; liaison to the university and departments within the university.
